SAVE My State Parks

SUPPORT | ADVOCATE | VOLUNTEER | EXPLORE
As the economic situation in Georgia has worsened, our legislators have been required to the trim state funding for most state agencies. Funding for Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites has been dramatically reduced over the past two years resulting in service limitations, layoffs, delayed maintenance and many other reductions.

Many sites are surviving with less than adequate staffing through the help of volunteers and supporters like you! Without the help of volunteers from across the site, many of Georgia's treasures would be in an even worse situation. You can (and do) make a difference!

SAVE My State Parks Day

To coincide with National Public Lands Day, SAVE My State Parks Day will be held on September 25, 2010. Thanks to Coca-Cola, no admission or parking fees will be charged that day. Friends chapters around the state will be hosting informational sessions and providing opportunities for you to get involved with a volunteer project. Visit your favorite park to find some way you can help! For more information on the opportunities available, visit the National Public Lands Day websites (click here).
